After the skin care announced the name change from Fair & Lovely to Glow & Lovely, Pakistanis went to social media to question the intention behind the decision.
New billboards and images posted by the brand reflect more. With a mix of skin tones, billboards have adjusted the lighter skin instead of bringing the darker skin tones into the center side.
The message apparently dictates it: beauty comes in any skin color. A strong attitude and completely different from what the brand had previously marketed.
With characters like Pakistani footballer Hajra Khan and Pakistani first-table player Sumaria Waris, women who may not have appeared before. There is no denying that evolution so far is in the right direction. The second argument that came up via social media argued that merchandise can be a cream of justice at the top of the day.
Contrary to popular belief Fair & Lovely or Glow & Lovely, however, both are not real fairness creams. The products do not contain bleach or mercury. Instead, the formulation of the brand is based on safe and effective ingredients such as vitamin B3, glycerin, UVA and UVB sunscreen and other vitamins such as B6, C and E, known to be antioxidants and allantoin, an anti-irritant.
Now the question remains that the country can change its vision of beauty.
